Walfrido Maulini- Blog 2- Group 3

As  the class progressed, so did our presentations. for the second batch of presentations our class concentrated on concerns in which the United States and the world are having to deal with. These issues were infrastructure, gender inequality, and global warming. The topics examined are important as the world makes the daily attempt to enhance everyone's living conditions. The two topics in particular; Gender inequalities and global warming have been rapidly climbing the importance ladder of the world and making themselves known via headlines and movements.

Group 2 undertook the topic of infrastructure. Infrastructure is the basic organizational structures and facilities such as buildings, and roads that are needed for the operation of a civilization or enterprise. The state’s infrastructure includes everything that provides to the economic and social success of the state, and everything that affects the living life of its citizens. An example we could use would be the use of public buses and the roads used to connect neighboring town, cities, or even states

The group discussed different pros and cons issues facing the U.S nowadays. There are Pros of infrastructures such as powering businesses, creating more jobs and more opportunities for struggling communities to be able to come out forward and better themselves.; on the other hand, there are some cons such as animal and vehicle collision. In this ever-changing world that we so proudly take place in, infrastructure is continuing to improve as its surrounding are as well. However, infrastructure has the obligation to be maintained and that is where various countries have not met the goals. United States is definite factor in that list. The United States is ranked 13th in the world despite boasting the world’s largest economy. Efforts to improve the infrastructure especially in poorer communities have been set in place and are occurring every day. This has been done because there has been research on how infrastructure can affect the efficiency of an area.

My group dived into the ongoing issues of gender inequality. To understand the section, you must first be familiarized with the concept’s definition. Gender inequality is discrimination based on sex or gender causing one sex or gender to be privileged or prioritized over another. Our group dissected this subject into categories such as LGBTQ+ (Sexual Preference/ Gender Expression), Sports pay inequality, Pay Gap/ Work Space, Health care, Sexual Harassment, and History & Psychology. Today our beloved women face discrimination when requesting medical assistance. Their problems are assigned under a label considered mental or hormonal. women also undergo discrimination in the workplace. They are given less compensation than men for equivalent work despite them being equally certified to receive the same amount of money.

Group 1 reviewed the topic on Global warming. Global warming is a steady increase in the overall temperature of the earth's atmosphere caused by to the greenhouse effect triggered by increased levels of carbon dioxide and other pollutants. Another accepted definition on Climate change can be a long-term change in the numerical circulation of weather forms including temperature, precipitation, and wind circumstances. This is an issue that is happening WORLDWIDE! There are numerous causes of climate change, however human deeds are the leading cause of climate change. As mentioned before on greenhouse effects negatively affecting the world, human activities that are harmful to the environment are leading to an increase in the share of greenhouse gases in the atmospheres. Several of these activities include but do not limit themselves to production processes, burning fuels, cooling processes, industrial and chemical processes, cutting down of trees. As Humans continue evolving the possibilities of avoiding the worst effects of climate change are possible. This could be done by reducing greenhouse gas emissions, by adopting new technologies, behaviors and policies that assist in the encouragement of less waste, smarter use of our environmental resources, and adjustments to climate change.

All these presentations were incredibly well done. The information that was provided by my fellow peers open many doors of knowledge that while I might have been aware of, I was not fully comprehending the seriousness of them. Most of us divert from considering anything outside of our United States bubble. These presentations did a great job on informing one another that we are indeed the only ones suffering from issues. The one I could truly say captured my full attention was the globally ongoing climate change issue. This did not happen in the blink of an eye. Just like it started over time the solution on hand will take time. If we collectively get together and take severe and immediate action, there is no reason as to why we wouldn’t be able to overcome it. The issue covered by my group is very important and one I personally take seriously as well. Women are the very source of our life! Of course, men take part in it and are needed, but the women have the hardest part. To this day it still makes no sense to me that they’re being discriminated against, taken advantage of and mistreated. As a society and community of humans we need to open our eyes and hearts and begin doing better. Women sometimes are doing the hardest parts in the job and are still paid much less than those lazy men sitting around getting paid to watch and do nothing. Every group has improved as a whole in comparison to the first presentation we did. Everyone seemed to be more comfortable within their groups. As we wrap up or final blog post it is important that we reflect and look back to the beginning. These posts while being a little tedious in my own opinion allow for us to view and expand our views as we read our group members information. I hope most of us take the time to think about the subject discussed in these presentations and allow ourselves to learn and be able to continue forward and help out the best way possible. Alone one cannot defeat the great issues of this world but united anything is possible.
