In these presentation the three topics that were presented were focused on global issues that affects our daily lives. The topics that were presented were global warming, infrastructure, and gender inequality. This topics are important to know especially now more than ever since it still plays a crucial role in our well being and environment. Although  technology and social media have instilled many of these topics in our minds they are still people oblivious to these topics.

The long history that gender inequality has had on not only the United States but globally is astonishing. Although gender inequality has been getting progressively less it is still present in todays society. Gender inequality is Social process by which people are treated differently and disadvantageously, under similar circumstances, on the basis of gender. In contrast to before where woman were not allowed to get jobs, properties, and not vote todays discrimination is vastly different. Today women are advocating for equal pay as men for doing the same job, more representation in the government, and changes in law regarding their health and safety. The pay gap has been a long lasting problem but has gotten more traction in the previous years and is one of the leading problem in gender inequality. Women not being paid the same as Men for the same work leads to an inefficient work place and unfair work environment which leads to Women not feeling as important as their counter parts. This increases the poverty rate for Women and lowers income for their families. Women presence in government is just as important as the pay gap. Women make up 51 percent of the population in the United States but only consist of 27 percent in Congress. This lack of representation allows Men to make majority of the laws that regard Women without allowing them to voice an opinion. Despite the popular belief that gender inequality only affects woman is not true. Men face inequality differently by enacting in violence, taking more dangerous jobs, and upholding the male societal view. The male stigma of having to become strong and having to be the main provider in a family can affect Males mental health. This leads to heavy drinking and violence to release the stress that society has given them since birth. Due to Males natural strength and body form they make up majority of the frontline workers such as military, police, and firefighter. This leads to male having a higher death toll to job related injuries and influences the newer generations that these jobs are only for males.

infrastructure is commonly known as the public roads, building, and facilities that are needed in society. We don't think about it much but infrastructure is one of the most important systems needed to run a country. Without infrastructure we would have no roads to drive on, no water treatments, and waste facilities. Infrastructure serves as the foundation of any society and without it we would crumble. They're are different areas of infrastructure ranging from telecommunication to parks to military industrial plants and facilities. Even though infrastructure cost trillions of dollars to maintain it has proven to boost the economy. Updated infrastructure has allowed for the boost in productivity by reducing the cost of production and goods by moving it more efficiently. This has shown to increase the United States dollar by 12.4 cents more with a continuous uptrend. As the world continues to age so does our infrastructure. Although the federal government is in charge of releasing infrastructure funds to state governments some are neglected. States such as West Virginia and Maine who suffer from poor infrastructure have unusable roads and less internet connection throughout the states. One of the biggest infrastructure crisis that brought light to our problem was the Flint Michigan water crisis. This water crisis was due to neglected water facility treatment that allowed lead enter the pipes contaminating it for over 5 years. This lead to physical and neurological damage to many of the flint Michigan citizens. The latest infrastructure that hit close to home was the surfside condominium collapse. This event lead to the deaths of 98 people and over a billion dollars in damage.

One of the most controversial topic discussed is global warming. It doesn't matter if you do or don't believe in global warming it is obvious that environmental changes are happening due to both natural and unnatural reasons. Global warming is a change in global or regional climate patterns. One of the leading causes of global warming is due to greenhouse gases trapping the heat of sun in the earths atmosphere. Greenhouse gases is mainly produced by human activities such as burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and electricity. These causes is mainly why climate change is hard to combat against since it is embedded into our culture. Some changes that are happening in order to combat climate change is the use of electric cars and solar panels but items such as these are expensive to make and buy especially for low income families and third world countries. Not only do we have to find solutions for our own mess but natural causes are also hard to prevent. Volcano eruptions which contribute largely to different climate patterns regionally is unpreventable. Even though the temperature has been increasing 0.13 Fahrenheit for over 100 years we can still appreciate the progress world leaders and companies have done to go eco friendly.

The topics that were presented have taught me a lot about problems we are having not only in the United States but globally. It has swayed my opinion on certain topics I didn't have much knowledge about. I believe that every group did a great job with the time they were given and appreciate the work everyone put in. I also enjoyed how most of the information was non bias and straight information. Compared to last presentation I believe this one went smoother and had more detail. I hope as time continues the topics we talked about will continue to improve.
